Yes, you can usually have both: the loyalty rewards that Hotels.com runs for its own customers, and the cashback you get through Coin7. They work independently of each other. The rewards come from the shop, the cashback comes from us, and one does not cancel the other. The one thing that does cancel cashback is a coupon code.

Two different things

It helps to keep the two apart in your head. Hotels.com has its own rewards scheme for people who book with an account. It is called One Key in the material we work from, and it is the shop’s own programme. Its rules, what you earn and how you use it are decided by Hotels.com and can change, so we do not describe the details here. Read the current description on hotels.com, and trust that over anything you read second-hand.

Coin7 cashback is a separate arrangement. When you start from our page and book, the shop’s partner programme pays a commission, and we pass a part of it on to you. It is calculated on what you actually paid, so it does not care about points or reward nights that you collect on the side.

How they fit together in practice

If you have a Hotels.com account, you can keep collecting rewards as you normally would. The cashback is worked out by Coin7 on the booking value. Neither should disturb the other. In practice that means you book once, with a login if you like, and get two benefits from the same stay.

Where it needs care is whenever a booking is paid for partly with something other than money. If you use reward value or a credit to lower the price, the amount you actually pay goes down, and so does the base the cashback is calculated on. That is not a bug, it is just arithmetic. If you are planning to use your rewards on a stay, look at what you will actually pay, and expect the cashback to follow that number.

The one rule that matters

Hotels.com pays cashback only on bookings made without a coupon code. If you enter a code at checkout, the booking will not earn cashback. This is a programme condition, and it is the same regardless of whether you also collect rewards. Check that no code field is filled in when you pay, and do not accept a code offered by a browser extension. Rewards from your account are a different thing from a coupon code, but if you are not sure how the shop treats a particular offer on the payment page, look at the details there and at the conditions on our shop page.

A sensible way to book
