Then the next one fails too. That is normal, and usually not the shop playing tricks on you. Most coupon codes on the internet stopped working long ago and nobody took them down. Once you know why, you can tell in seconds whether a code is worth trying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why so many dead codes stay online<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A coupon page with nothing on it looks broken. Nobody clicks it and it slides out of search results. So there is a quiet incentive to leave old codes where they are: twenty codes look healthier than two, even if eighteen expired last winter. Sites also copy each other, so one dead code spreads across dozens of pages in a day. Nobody checks, because checking takes work and the page earns the same anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to spot an expired code<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>No date anywhere. If the page never says when a code was last tested, assume nobody tested it.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>The same code appears for shops that have nothing to do with each other.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Vague wording: a big percentage off, no conditions, no end date.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Old comments from people saying it failed, still sitting there months later.<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The checkout message matters too. If the shop says the code has expired, the campaign is over. If it says not valid, the code is often real and you just do not meet a condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New customers only, and the minimum order value<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those two conditions explain most failures that are not real expiry. New customers only means the shop checks whether your email address has been used before, sometimes your address or payment method too. Forgetting your password does not make you new again, and some shops look at the household rather than the person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A minimum order value means the discount unlocks only once your basket passes a set amount, counted before shipping and often before any other reduction. If the code needs fifty euros and your basket sits at 49.80, it fails without explaining itself. Check whether sale items count towards that threshold, because they are often excluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why a code works in one country and not another<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shops trading in several countries usually run separate campaigns for each, with their own stock, prices and codes. A code from a German campaign is often rejected on the same brand&#8217;s French site even though the pages look identical, and a code written for pounds may not exist in the euro shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens if you try ten codes in a row<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nothing good. Most checkouts limit how many failed codes you can enter before they stop accepting any at all, usually for a set number of minutes. Some reset your basket, some log you out, a few block even a working code afterwards. There is a second cost people miss: if you arrived through a cashback or coupon site, leaving mid-checkout to hunt for codes can send you back through a different link. The tracking on your visit gets overwritten and any cashback disappears. Two or three attempts is a sensible ceiling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why a check date beats a long list<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A page showing five codes tested this morning is more useful than one showing forty with no dates. The count tells you how much a site collected. The date tells you whether anyone has looked since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Coin7 the codes and rates are checked daily, the check date is printed on each shop page, and codes that stop working are removed rather than left to pad the list. A shorter list is the point, not a shortcoming. Whichever site you use, look for that date first.
