Why travel pays more

Two reasons. The basket value is high, and hotel platforms pay generous commissions because a booking costs them almost nothing to deliver. A booking of 800 euros with a rate of 4 percent already means 32 euros back to you. That is why our members earn most of their cashback in the travel section.

What to keep in mind when booking

• Book in one session. Search on the booking site, then come back to Coin7, click through again and book right away. A click that is hours old may no longer be counted.
• Cashback is paid on the room price. Taxes, resort fees and extras that you pay at the hotel desk are usually not part of it.
• Payment at the hotel is fine in most programs, but the cashback is only confirmed after your stay.
• Loyalty programs can block it. If you book while logged into the hotel loyalty account with a member rate, the booking is sometimes excluded.

Why travel cashback takes longer

A booking you make today may be for a stay in four months. The shop can only confirm the commission after you have actually stayed, so patience is part of the deal. A booking in January for a holiday in July will usually turn into confirmed cashback in August. Cancellations and no-shows are removed completely, which is normal and happens often in this category.
