Many shoppers think they have to choose: either a discount code or cashback. In most shops you can have both, and that is where the real saving happens.

The difference in one sentence

A coupon code lowers the price at checkout. Cashback comes back to you afterwards, from the commission the shop pays us for bringing you there. One works before you pay, the other after.

The right order of steps

1. Open the shop page on Coin7 and look at the vouchers and offers listed there.
2. Copy the code you want. The click that reveals the code is also the click that starts your cashback tracking.
3. Fill your basket in the shop and paste the code at checkout.
4. Complete the order without opening other coupon sites in between.

Which codes can cost you the cashback

Codes that a shop did not release for cashback partners can cancel your tracking. Typical examples are influencer codes, codes from a newsletter of another partner, employee codes and codes you find on random forums. If a shop sees such a code on your order, it often refuses the commission, and without commission there is no cashback.

A quick example

A pair of shoes costs 120 euros. A voucher gives you 10 percent off, so you pay 108 euros. The shop pays cashback of 6 percent on the amount you actually paid, which is about 6.48 euros. Your real price is around 101 euros. The coupon alone would have saved 12 euros, the cashback alone about 7 euros. Together you save nearly 19 euros for two extra clicks.

When cashback beats the code

Some shops reduce the cashback rate when a code is used, and some codes exclude sale items. Compare the two numbers before you buy. On expensive electronics or travel bookings, the cashback is often worth more than a five percent voucher.
